HSS Hire is the UK’s leading tools and equipment hire company and we are looking for an Apprentice Fitter for our local distribution centre.

You’ll need to be passionate about engineering, work safely and be able to communicate effectively with your teams. Bringing the right person into our team is very important and we need to make sure the successful candidate can adhere to our core values.

We Make It Happen. You’ll be trained to service, maintain and repair our full range of hire equipment whilst working towards obtaining your Level 3 Land Based Service Engineering Technician Apprenticeship.

We Make It Better. Your Level 3 apprenticeship will last for three years – and whilst you’re at college you will study:

• Environmental, safe working and legal requirements
• Use of specialist tools and equipment
• Thermally and chemically joining metals and components
• Advanced technical and engineering principles of land-based engineering machinery, plant and equipment
• Service, maintenance and repair principles and practices for complex machinery, plant and equipment
• Accessing, interpreting and applying technical data
• Diagnosing faults and verifying machinery
• Functional Skills or GCSE in English and Maths depending on previous qualifications

Let’s Make It Together. Alongside ‘on the job training’ at your distribution centre, you will attend Reaseheath College based in Cheshire, for up to 3 weeks at a time. Accommodation will be provided and funded to colleagues who do not live within a reasonable travel distance.
