The Planet Group have recently been engaged by a leading Aerospace and Defence company to support their recruitment for an Digital Technology Business Apps Specialist assigned to their Solihull, Birmingham branch (Hybrid / Remote working available)

Position Overview:

Reporting to the international Business Apps Associate Director, this is an exciting opportunity for a Digital Technology Business Applications Specialist in the UK to take part of large Business application projects across international locations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Be the international technical lead for Enterprise Business Applications roll out projects across all international sites.

· These projects can be SAP alignment projects, Manufacturing Execution Systems deployment or upgrade, EDI, RFID, Identity automation tools, Document Management tool.

· Lead Application development activities. Manage local development resources or offshore development resources to drive and deliver custom application development projects.

· Introduce and develop agile tools & methodology.

· Ensure applications meet customer requirements, expected quality and meets compliance & security RTX standards.

· Collect business requirements for International Applications and define design strategy.

· Ask critical questions, define mandatory from nice to have, collect saving details to calculate application business value. Work with Enterprise architects and International infrastructure team to define best application platform for every approved project.

· Drive application Project Lifecycle starting with getting project approval and ranking. Run design & deployment phase using Agile methodology including all technical teams and business stakeholders. Avoid scope creep yet delivering to the stakeholder expectations. Report progress and escalate issues when appropriate. Ensure applications long term compliance to company policies

· Deliver and monitor applications ensuring the application is used and that the support plan is well defined. Confirm application savings are made and challenge when they are not.

Additional Responsibilities:

· Supplement current Business Apps Associate Director to International meetings when not available

· Assist International sites being ready for Corporate audits and answer any auditor request regarding application compliance questions

Key Competencies:

· A broad DT background and an existing experience in large corporations is required.

· Degree in Computer Science – Desirable

· Large enterprise tools functional analysis (ERP, MES, GED...)

· Experience of working on multiple large Digital Technology projects

· Knowledge of UK and/or European MoD compliance frameworks.

· Strong experience in Software development – certification preferred

· Agile methodology practice or certified training

· Understanding of Infrastructure DT technology

· Excellent communication and organisational skills

· Customer focused with great attention to detail

· Fluent in English, one additional European language preferred

· Experience in management of Development team preferred

· Aerospace experience preferred
