The opportunity
We are currently recruiting a brand newly created role of Senior Buyer who will support the Indirect Procurement Manager and Senior Buyer on all Indirect sourcing projects in accordance with the EO Procurement Policy and the Supplier Management Framework. In addition to this the buyer will offer sourcing consultancy and support to all internal stakeholders.
About You
  • Build and maintain strong effective relationships with key internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the 3 step Procurement process for all Procurement project types
  • Undertake due diligence of suppliers in accordance with modellers and assessment tools as advised by QBE risk experts.
  • Manage contract development and negotiation working with internal stakeholders
  • Support the Indirect Sourcing Manager and Senior Buyer in the implementation of the EO Procurement Policy on a consistent basis across QBE.
  • Perform supplier selection and evaluation, working with internal stakeholders in accordance with EO standards and methodology
  • Work effectively with the other teams within EO Procurement to ensure the smooth running of the appropriate application of the policies, procedures and controls that support the Procurement function.
You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Previous Buyer / Procurement experience required
  • Relationship Management – ability to cooperate/ collaborate with business representatives and suppliers
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work as part of a small team
  • Solid negotiation skills-ability to generate cost savings through negotiation
  • Ability to analyse financial and general management information
  • Ability to understand specifications and contract scope
  • Strong understanding of sourcing due diligence and managing risk
  • MCIPS is an advantage but not essential for this role
