Our department has evolved significantly over the past few years and continues to expand as we embark on various change and transformation programmes. We are now seeking an experienced Data Professional to provide technical leadership as we continue to advance our data management maturity.

Working within an established departmental data team, the successful candidate will lead the definition and adoption of our technical strategy as we confront the multiple challenges of key application renewal, migration to Cloud based data architecture and the adoption into service of significant project deliveries whilst maintaining a ‘business as usual’ service.

We are seeking a confident Data Professional with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of our organisation. You will be expected to inform and broker key decisions around the technical aspects of our data management strategy with an aptitude for technical project planning and leadership, data modelling and design and complex data integration scenarios. You will be confident in brokering consensus, influencing tough decisions and creating followership for the chosen path even when ambiguities remain.

As well as steering technical deliveries through to successful adoption, you will be able to evidence a strong awareness of assurance activities. Experience of working within agile change programmes is also desirable.

You will lead a small team of data analysts, so previous experience of motivating, developing and supporting a team is considered essential. You should possess a high level of technical data management knowledge such that you can represent our departmental data needs. This knowledge should include SQL server, Azure and enterprise level MI solutions such as Power BI or Cognos. Experience with R, Python, other RDBMS, Tableau etc. will also be considered.

We are seeking professionals with experience of working within General Insurance, preferably within an Underwriting, Pricing, MI or IT role.
