We are looking for a Business Development Manager with experience in insurance broking to manage the development of general insurance brokers in South Central and South West England.

The ideal candidate will be based in an SP, RG or SN postcode and will have general insurance broking experience from having worked at an insurance brokers or serviced general insurance brokers in the South Central and South West regions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for visiting and maintaining regular contact with general insurance brokers within the assigned region, nurturing and developing sales opportunities from the suite of personal and commercial insurance products and associated services that we can provide access to.

  • Knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel and Outlook
  • Delivery of revenue targets within a specified region
  • Regular broker visits

  • Identify and deliver areas for growth within region
  • Maintain and develop existing product provider | broker relationships
  • Develop new broker relationships
  • Compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Attending events, promoting the business
  • Keep abreast of competitor activity
  • Champion the brand visions and values and represent the company in a professional manner
  • Control expenses to meet budget guidelines
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years’ general insurance broking experience either working at an insurance brokers or servicing general insurance brokers: two years (minimum required)
  • Business Development: two years (minimum required)
  • Full driving licence with a minimum of two years’ driving experience
  • Existing general insurance broker relationships
  • Salary is dependent upon experience in a similar role
