Assistant Claims Technician

Our client, a niche property related insurance provider, are seeking an Assistant Claims Technician to join their team. They would like some who has conveyancing knowledge as this will complement the work you will be carrying out.

This role will suit someone looking to come away from working in a law firm, but still wanting to utilise their skills and knowledge gained from the industry. This insurance providers clients mainly include Solicitors Firms, Lenders and Developers so it would be helpful if the candidate has extensively liaised with them before.

Daily duties include:

  • Administer residential, commercial and lender title insurance claims received from UK
  • Proactively and efficiently manage claims from allocation to settlement including investigating the nature of the claim, determining insurance policy coverage, and setting financial reserves based on the most likely outcome
  • Assist senior team members in the management and settlement of more complex/high profile cases as required
  • Deal with legal and other technical matters received from the business as assigned
  • Draft adhoc, comprehensive, complex letters
  • Respond to enquiries and queries in writing and via the telephone and adhere to service standards
  • Keep up to date records on every claim in your caseload which accurately reflect the current position
  • Carry out training and briefing sessions internally to develop the knowledge and understanding of claims issues
  • To produce claims presentations and present to internal staff members and external clients
  • Communicate with all levels of internal and external clients/professionals
  • Ensure that all regulatory requirements including the General Data Protection Regulations and ICOBS are followed

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous experience within a conveyancing environment in a law firm
  • Great academic background
  • Exceptional attention to detail and delivery focus
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Demonstrates a flexible, adaptable approach and always rises to new challenges
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office
