The opportunity.

An excellent opportunity exists for the right candidate to join our enthusiastic and dedicated IT Workshop team, providing a service to a wide variety of end users consisting of retail branch, warehouse and Head Office personal as well as home and remote users.

The IT Workshop currently consists of 10 full time technicians and 3 apprentice students, and is a diverse, flexible, professional team working in a fast-paced environment.

The experience will give the successful applicant a wide range of IT skills which can be used to progress within the team or to other areas of the IT department.

The responsibility.
As part of this opportunity, you will be providing a service to a wide variety of end users The role will include:

  • Repairing and maintaining a variety of IT systems, including desktop computers, laptops and tablet hardware, printers, EPOS terminals and related hardware and handheld scanners to name a few
  • Configuration of Cisco networking equipment, EPOS Till systems, Handheld devices and Printers
  • Processing returns, recycling equipment
  • Doing repairs and new installations
  • Completing stock inventory and asset management
  • Using Halo to manage workload/tickets as well as responding to phone requests
  • Researching new technologies and carrying out new installations throughout the Warehouse, Head Office and remote sites
  • Store rollouts and acquisitions

The person.

Desirable experience and skills

  • Intelligent and confident individual with a strong interest in computing
  • Able to work well within a team and without direct supervision
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Diligent and meticulous with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with IT Hardware
  • 12 months + experience in an IT Hardware role
  • CompTIA, Cisco or Microsoft Qualifications
  • Ability to work under pressure and to a strict deadline

We offer further training and learning for anyone who wishes to progress and attain industry recognized certifications such as Dell Hardware Technician and the ability to learn other qualifications from Cisco, Microsoft and even CompTIA.

There will be a requirement for shift work and some weekend cover (approximately one in eight weekends). Your working day will be 9 hours and working one of 2 shifts, 0700-1600 or 0900-1800 where weekends its 0800-1700.
