Are you a confident communicator? Want to work in a role where you get to travel to different sites and help colleagues develop their IT skills? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you to join our team as an IT Trainer!

This role will be based in our Operations Centre in Bath; however, travel will be required across the whole of the Wessex Water region which covers the area of Bristol, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Bridgewater, and everything in-between. Some overnight stays may be required.

The role

Our work management project seeks to develop and implement business processes and technologies that will enable us to improve our working practices and shape the business for the future.

The project involves the deployment of an IT Enterprise system (Microsoft Dynamics) that will provide a platform for recording asset information, automated scheduling of operational work and reporting on both assets and workforce information. The project involves people, process, and technology.

As the IT Trainer, you will assist in the delivery of this project and work closely with the Training Coordinator and IT training team to develop and deliver training plans, including entry and exit documentation. You will liaise with internal teams to identify the needs of those who require training, you will then create engaging interactive sessions, including where you can real business scenarios and user stories.

As well as creating and delivering the content, you will also help organise the logistics of all sessions which will include preparing schedules, booking training rooms and organising IT hardware and software. As well as delivering in person training you will also be responsible for creating guides and video training material, as well as delivering some sessions via Microsoft Teams.

What do I need?

As well as having excellent IT skills, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a flexible approach and willingness to take on new challenges. You will have strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. To be successful you will be an excellent communicator and confident communicating with multiple users across the organisation.

It would be preferable, but not essential if you have:

  • Previous experience providing training
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Surface Hubs

Due to the remote nature of this role, you will be required to have a full clean driving licence
