Due to growth and investment in the Unipart Logistics IT function we are currently looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic team as the Test Manager. You will be responsible for planning and execution of changes to support Unipart and the client. You will work with our market leading technology clients and will work closely with our talented delivery, development, commercial, and operations colleagues to ensure revenue and client satisfaction goals are met.

IT Test Manager Responsibilities

Strategy
  • Developing and maintain the core test strategy
  • Continuous improvement of testing methodology, artefacts and ways of working
  • Introduce automated regression testing in areas where a positive business case can be demonstrated

Team and Resource Management
  • Maintain resource plan for the core test team, assessing demand for resource across projects and programmes of work
  • Line management of internal team
  • Selection, on-boarding and task management of external test resources as required
  • Day to day management of third-party resource providers, participating in service reviews

Investment Case Preparation
  • Provide estimates of test phase duration, costs, environment and resource requirements to support programme and project managers with investment case preparation
  • Identify dependencies to support critical path planning

Accountability for QA across Projects and Programmes
  • Track progress across all test phases, taking action as required to ensure delivery to agreed time, cost and quality
  • Ensure quality of key deliverables such as Test Approach, Test Readiness Assessment and End of Test Report
  • Act as an escalation point for Test across all core projects and programmes, taking action as required to resolve/mitigate risks and issues
  • Maintain environment plan for core systems, assessing demand for environments across projects and programmes of work and identifying when environments must be built or decommissioned

IT Test Manager Requirements
  • A degree in IT or related business topic (preferable)
  • Experience of working in IT Logistics, 3PL experience desirable
  • Previous experience of using testing tools e.g. JIRA Defect, ALM, Xray
  • Previous experience in Test Management
  • Proven track record of line management, motivation and developing others
  • A test certification e.g. ISEB Practitioner in Software Testing (desirable)
