SRG Recruitmentare working with a Progressive B2B Telecommunications and IT solutions company, based in Leicester City Centre looking for an ambitious, forward thinking and technically mindedIT Technician,to support their ever growing customer base throughout the UK.

The role requires a can-do attitude and full ownership of multiple service requests, within an established support desk environment.

Key Responsibilities - IT Technician

The Senior IT & Telecoms Network Technician is responsible for designing and implementing, both computer and telecoms hardware, software, systems & networks.

TheIT technicianis also responsible for resolving complex support requests relating to hardware, software, and network systems.
  • You will be heavily involved in planning and designing client solutions.
  • Communicating with clients and colleagues, to determine the nature of issues and best remedial actions.
  • Provide research and support for new technologies applicable to our business and industry.
  • Diagnosing, reporting and prioritising fault reports within a dynamic, fast paced environment.
COMMUNICATION & INTERPERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE IT Technician
  • Ability to listen and understand information.
  • Present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knows appropriate way of communicating with customers, peers and line managers and external stakeholders.
INITIATIVE
  • Monitors and manages own time to ensure daily objectives are met. Develops and improves procedures in agreement with line manager.
  • Accepts additional challenges and responsibilities willingly and assists others.

PLANNING & ORGANISATION
  • Adapts to changes and uses resources effectively.
  • Together with line manager, sets objectives, establishes priorities and develops plans. Arranges work schedules and prioritises work to meet deadlines.
  • Seeks clarification and approval where appropriate before commences new projects or working methods
FLEXIBILITY
  • Use of initiative to ensure tasks are completed, supportive of manager and wider team goals and objectives
Technical Skills & Desired Experience

Good technical working knowledge of network and IT systems including:
  • Microsoft Active Directory User and Group Management
  • Desktop Operating System Management
  • Server Operating System Management
  • General Networking Hardware
  • General Networking Protocols
  • General Networking Software
  • General VoIP architecture
  • Virtual server environment design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Good understanding of Routing and Firewall functions.
  • Previous experience of the telecoms industry would be advantageous, although not essential
PACKAGE & HOURS
  • Annual Salary - £25,000 - £30,000 DOE
