Description

This role is for an experienced and confident team player who can lead new IT project developments and maximize the use of our current solutions and can help enhance the IT systems and infrastructure of our European and Global hotel business and assist YOTEL HQ in delivery of our wider projects and strategic aspirations.

This is an overall scope of the role but is not an exhaustive list of tasks. YOTEL reserves the right to add/amend tasks as the role evolves and as the flexibility of our business requires.

Responsibilities

Product Management

  • Ongoing management of projects/systems and handling IT system change requests and managing product releases, especially Opera Cloud, Infrasys and CRM / ERP platforms.
  • Creating new on-brand IT capability and exploiting the IT services that we already have
  • Delivering the next phases of appointed pieces of our IT infrastructure including property management systems, finance, BI solutions.
  • Working with Hotel General Managers and senior staff to review and deliver their current and future IT needs
  • Maintain the IT Brand standards for new hotel (customer facing and back of house) then liaising with appointed regional IT Consultants and external investor partners
  • Acting as pre-opening IT Manager when required and helping to vet/assess new hotel IT Managers / outsourced partners.
  • Keeping aligned with our Global IT teams and 3rd party to advise on corporate product changes and to support local IT-led innovation initiatives

Project Management

    • Creating and delivering to plans
    • Keeping stakeholders updated

Business Analysis

  • Create weekly reports which outline IT support performance.
  • Collecting requests to inform system changes and definition of new products

Financial & Commercial Control

  • Creating business cases to justify changes or new developments
  • Creating annual IT capex/opex budgets

Supplier Management

  • Running an RFP process if appropriate for new tools & vendors
  • Owning and managing relationships with senior IT suppliers and running Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)

People Management

  • Managing our IT Support function which covers our HQ and group hotels including outsourced 3rd party providers.

Ideal key skills/experience

  • Proven leadership and management experience at a senior level. You will need at least five years’ experience of running the IT function of a small / medium-sized company, both remotely and on site in a position of responsibility.
  • Senior level stakeholder management and excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience of structured project management methodologies (e.g., Prince2, PMP) and ideally Agile methodology experience
  • Experience of Business Analysis techniques
  • Ability to chair, facilitate and lead meetings, workshops, and structured sessions
  • You must have excellent written and spoken English and ability to explain complex and/or technical issues clearly and accurately in simple terms to non-IT stakeholders
  • We are a Windows based environment so awareness of the Microsoft office suite and Microsoft Win 10 / 11 / Server 20012-19, Active Directory, Office 365, Windows Server technologies, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and technical architecture is needed
  • Awareness of SQL Databases and management
  • Awareness of back-of-house IT systems (e.g., corporate HQ, hospitality, F&B) including telephony, Wi-Fi, AV, CCTV, display screens
  • Formal networking qualifications are not required but you will need a good working knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, networking protocols.
  • Experience of delivering hosted enterprise systems including email, HR, Finance, corporate web sites, Content Management Systems (CMS), eCommerce payment gateways. Hospitality experience would be ideal but is not essential e.g., experience of Property Management Systems (PMS)
  • Working in smaller companies (without large corporate support departments) and being autonomous when needed
  • Awareness of IT Security and disaster recovery best practice
  • Proven delivery of software solutions to time, budget, and quality
  • Competent user of Excel i.e., comfortable with setting up Excel reports and creating business cases
