About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. As the IT Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of our company’s IT infrastructure. Working closely with senior management and colleagues, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining our systems, as well as providing technical support to internal stakeholders. Your expertise will contribute to the ongoing success and growth of Avalla as we continue to drive innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, network systems, and software applications.
  • Monitor the performance, security, and availability of IT systems, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components, ensuring compatibility and optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system requirements, recommend improvements, and implement enhancements.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights, ensuring data security and privacy.
  • Conduct regular backups and implement disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical company data.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to employees, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and user guides.
  • Adhere to IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

About you

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as an IT Systems Administrator or similar role. (Preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, operating systems, and software applications (Required)
  • Proficient in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues (Required)
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery procedures (Required)
  • Solid understanding of data security and privacy principles (Required)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, CompTIA Network+) (Preferred)

The Rewards

  • Salary - We offer a 25,000 starting salary with an increase to at least £26,500 per annum after 12 months, more may be offered in the event of very high performance.
