My client is an industry leading print business, established over 60 years ago they are a pioneer within the marketing and communications side of the industry. Based at their Cheadle facility, they are currently seeking a 2nd Line Support Technician to work within their IT department.

Working as part of a busy, multinational business you will be part of a desktop, server and network support team, building and supporting enterprise grade software systems.

You will have responsibility for 2nd line service requests to agreed resolution times; ’own’ end user issues through to resolution and recognise when to escalate an issue within the team.

The Role

  • Dealing with faults/service desk tickets in order of priority in conjunction with and as directed by other members of the IT team and the Service Desk Manager
  • General maintenance and repair of PC’s hardware
  • Windows and Apple Mac Desktop and Laptop Builds
  • Application installation
  • Set-up of PCs and installation of Printers on a Network
  • Creating users account within Active Directory
  • Supporting Mobile device queries
  • Setting up new telephone extensions
  • Supporting the company’s security protocols
  • Liaise directly with the end users
  • Maintenance of company IT assets
  • Updating of departmental documentation
  • Possible remote site visits with other IT team members

The Person

  • Experience working on a fast-paced service desk
  • A good understanding of Active Directory & Windows operating systems
  • An understanding of Networking principles
  • Understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
  • Application support
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive and resourceful
  • Passion for IT technologies and a desire to learn
  • Full Driving licence
  • Team Player

Salary + Benefits

This has a salary of £24,000. Plus benefits including overtime paid at an enhanced rate, excellent private pension scheme, competitive holiday allowance (25 days plus Bank Holidays), company discounts at retailers, and much more.

Due to this role working in a secure environment, candidates will be subject to a financial and DBS check prior to onboarding.
