IT Support Technician

Head Office – Eastbourne

Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Monday – Friday with shifts between 7am – 5.30pm and on call at weekends on a rota

Due to continued growth and development, we have a great opportunity for an IT Support Technician to join our busy and evolving IT department based at Head Office in Eastbourne where our central IT Department are responsible for providing essential support to our growing network of over 190 branches.

The role of IT Support Technician is very varied one, you will be the first point of contact for colleagues, customers and suppliers for any IT related issues within the business. To enable the team to provide comprehensive support to our branch network, the support team work on a rota during the week and are on call at weekends. As an IT Support Technician, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support and troubleshooting for all IT related issues, from in-house software, ERP (K8), MS Office and network issues, to business equipment such as PCs, laptops, tablets, mobile devices and printers
  • Troubleshooting network and telephony faults, such as ADSL broadband issues
  • Escalating unresolved issues to the relevant Infrastructure or ERP team and continue to track and log progress through the Support Call Management System
  • Providing field support in person, as required, to the installation and configuration of equipment; this may include basic user training of all business equipment and related software
  • Generating, printing and transferring electronic data to third parties, including the investigation and resolution of queries

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Approachable, possessing an open and friendly personality
  • Previous experience in an IT Technician or support role would be preferred
  • Broad range of IT skills including Hardware and Software
  • Enjoys working and supporting a team but can be relied upon to work as an individual at all times
  • A clear and confident communicator with excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Keen to learn, develop skills, and progress within this sector
  • A willingness to undertake a range of tasks to support the business, both at Head office and on visits to branches
  • An interest in IT business support
  • Someone who is practical, able to problem-solve, takes responsibility for their actions and can achieve deadlines
  • Driver would be preferred but not essential
