The business is currently seeking an IT Support Engineer to join its IT team.

Reporting to the IT Manager, we are looking for someone to be extremely proactive in their approach to the day-to-day operation and support of the IT function within the Logistics sector.

As the IT Support Engineer you will be serving as the first point of call for IT-related issues across the business internally and with customers. This will involve playing a pivotal role across all aspects of the support, maintenance and the continuous improvement of the businesses IT infrastructure.

Sanderson Transport are looking for an engaged and keen to learn candidate who has the desire to build their knowledge, skills and further their career within the IT function.

You will have exceptional organisational skills and are able to communicate well across all levels of employees as well as use initiative to problem solve effectively.

You will build and develop relationships with staff at all levels across the organisation to provide support and guidance in accordance with the organisation’s values of culture, care, commitment and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support promptly and efficiently resolving IT-related issues across a wide variety of systems, hardware and networking infrastructure.
  • Actively monitor IT systems, conducting routine updates and patches to ensure optimal system performance and security.
  • Engage with employees to identify potential IT improvements and collaborate with IT Manager, shareholders and the wider business on implementing changes.
  • Travel to satellite sites to assist in IT support.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the IT function and propose changes to the IT Manager and shareholders in line with industry standards and up to date technologies.
  • Security focused, ensuring new starters and leavers are dealt with promptly ensuring access is restricted efficiently and effectively. As well as making sure hardware including servers, laptops and desktops are updated with the latest versions of Anti-Virus and patches.
  • Can use initiative and tools available to problem solve.

Our ideal candidate would have experience in the below areas:

  • Microsoft Business Domains (On Premise) – Active Directory, DHCP and DNS
  • Virtualization Infrastructures – Hyper-V
  • Desktop, Laptop and Server Hardware – HP
  • Network Security appliances – Cisco ASA and Meraki
  • VPNs (Cisco) – IKEv1+2, SSL
  • Experience with Transport and Warehouse Management Systems
  • Cloud VOIP Solutions
  • Backup and DR solutions on-prem and cloud
  • Some knowledge of managing and querying SQL servers
  • MDM software such as Intune and MaaS360
  • Microsoft Office 365

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
