The salary offered for this role is up to £75,000 depending on experience

The opportunity:

If are you a results-oriented, commercially minded technology sourcing manager with a proven track record of success in IT sourcing then this is the ideal opportunity for you to join us in the UK Procurement and Vendor Management (PVM) function. You will lead the sourcing, management, and delivery of new IT Services to support the overall strategic goals whilst delivering in line with our procurement strategy.

What will you be doing?

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and take accountability for the delivery of sourcing IT Services (Consulting, Outsourcing, Hardware, Software, Voice and Data, Computer services) such as deal development and negotiation.
  • Coach and advise customer stakeholders as well as relevant supplier management teams that customers are engaged with on elements of sourcing.
  • Manage the initiative pipeline to ensure resources are adequately assigned.
  • Own key supplier relationships relevant to the customer if applicable, including issue resolution, driving supplier performance and direction, and supporting the supplier governance process.
  • Handle specific customer challenges and escalations including resolving issues that have been escalated.
  • Identify and assess new solutions, new offerings, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Facilitate discussions between the Supplier and the organisation’s stakeholders on selected opportunities and solutions.

Additional Job Functions

  • Attend key Supplier events.
  • May manage provider resources and be accountable for their delivery and performance towards stakeholders.
  • Understand business requirements and priorities.
  • Responsible for obtaining all approvals as part of the full management process from required functions depending on the deals.
  • Play the role of intermediary between supplier and customer as required.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of tools, framework templates, contract terms and other artefacts.
  • Provide thought leadership in structuring the Supplier Portfolio and Outsourcing deals including pricing methodology. Transition methodology, etc.

Business Accountabilities

  • Establish and agree on key performance targets and financial budgets for the team to optimize business performance in line with set objectives.
  • Propose and lead the implementation of complex sourcing or procurement projects, typically as part of a major change or business improvement initiative involving multi-disciplinary teams and timescales for more than one year.
  • Lead initiatives to drive the ongoing evolution of sourcing/procurement/vendor management frameworks, processes, and best-practice to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Educate and influence senior colleagues to enable the execution of all relevant policies and governance processes to ensure that the business is not exposed to undue risk.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders across the business, wider sourcing function and other functions internally to collect and analyse data and insights to make informed, authoritative professional recommendations and improve business performance.
  • Develop sourcing or procurement strategy and supplier account plans and review relevant policies to ensure they are in line with strategic business objectives. Look externally to ensure the organization´s deals and processes are industry leading.
  • Lead strategic supplier relationships and build strong links with key internal customers and other business stakeholders to identify opportunities for service improvement to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in leadership discussions within sourcing and procurement to provide specialist guidance and enable the implementation of policy, projects and change initiatives across the business.
  • Lead substantial or complex sourcing deals from end to end, negotiate significant contracts, or lead an operational procurement team at a local level, to ensure the business receives value for money and the right levels of service in line with strategic objectives.
  • Act as a point of escalation to raise customer service issues with suppliers directly at a senior level, where suppliers do not meet required standards or internal customers are being affected.

  • High-Level Influencer Externally Focused - The job’s core deliverables rely on influencing or negotiating with external and internal contacts.
  • Relationships typically involve persuading or countering opposition, often with vendor representatives or senior management-level customers.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven track record of leading procurement decisions and identifying opportunities for cost savings including competitive bidding, negotiating, and analysing data and market trends.
  • Capable of implementing purchasing projects/contracts.
  • Procurement accreditation will be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are a must.
