What youll be doing

Mainly based out of our Shrivenham office, you will be working within our Project Management team delivering IT projects for various customers.

One morning you could be leading a workshop to plan the next stage of a deployment with a client, in the afternoon discussing RAID Registers with the PMO Manager. During the day, youll keep an eye on key tasks in the PPM tool and liaise with a Project Coordinator. The next day will be very different, but you will be used to that.

This is not a particularly technical role. You wont need to configure firewalls or build Linux VMs, but you will be leading the people who do.

Youll work within a team of experienced Project Managers, report directly to the Head of Project Management and on occasion travel to customer sites and other Prolinx locations.

A Typical Breakdown Of Your Role Would Be
  • Managing projects according to our PRINCE2-based PM Procedures
  • Reporting project updates to PMO, customers, senior management and colleagues
  • Leading and motivating resources to deliver capability securely, to time and budget
  • Ensuring documentation (e.g. PIDs, plans and registers) complies with agreed ISO standards
  • Guiding the wider Prolinx team to provide the best possible customer experience
What we need from you

We need someone that is:-
  • Organised
  • Friendly, helpful and approachable
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Capable of clear, concise communication
  • Able to obtain and hold UK National Security Check (SC) clearance
  • Prepared to travel to other customer and Prolinx sites
What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for recent multi-year Project Management experience, preferably working in an IT environment.

Essential Skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of PM techniques and processes e.g. PRINCE2, Agile
  • Experience of project delivery in a business/IT environment
  • Strong interpersonal/customer service skills and telephone manner
  • Proficient in the use of office applications such as email, Word, Excel and MS Project
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IT concepts such as servers, applications and cloud computing
  • Able to demonstrate resilience and a positive attitude towards challenges
Desired Skills
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner (or equivalent) qualification
  • Service Management experience e.g. ITIL
  • Demonstrable experience of IT security considerations e.g. Security Clearance
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 20000, 27001 and JSP would be advantageous
  • Driving licence
