IT Project Manager (Information Strategy)

Portsmouth Hospitals University Trusts (PHU) has a vision for its Analytics strategy to demonstrate how we can make better use of information from our systems, provide clinicians and managers with tools to support informed decision making and improve the patient care and safety.

PHU Digital and Analytics Services are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to take forward the Analytics Strategy and support the development of providing clinicians and managers with tools to support informed decision making to improve patient care and safety. This includes a ‘ward to board’ approach for routine reporting and prediction modelling and planning, alongside a desire to bring data science skills into the informatics team to be able to explore the rich data sets that we have more deeply.

Making use of the information from the whole health economy will enable better patient care and better planning of precious resources. Collaboration and sharing information are a key theme in our approach to analytics.

We are looking for a Project Manager with the skills and experience to support a move us from an SAP Business Objects analytics environment to an Azure data architecture, helping to drive down costs and meet the need to provide analytics and data solutions rather than ad-hoc reporting. The aim is to create create an Analytics Centre of Excellence that draws expertise from analytics; MIS; research and the University of Portsmouth and a strong need to deliver predictive analytics, data science or mobile dashboards.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Information Officer you will be accountable for the detailed scoping, planning and delivery of the Analytics Strategy and associated tasks as agreed with the Deputy Chief Information Officer. You will ensure Trust project management processes are followed so that project budgets, timescales, quality, staff resources and achievement of benefits are adequately monitored and controlled and Trust and NHS standing financial instructions, policies and procedures are scrupulously complied with.

The role will be based at our main QA Hospital site with a mix of home working.
