IT Project Management Application Owner

We currently have a vacancy for an IT Project Management Application Owner at our site in Portsmouth Broad Oak - Mostly working from home with one day a week on site – can be UK wide.

As an IT Project Management Application Owner, you will be leading activities in the provision for the business in relation to Product Management, ensuring through stakeholder management, the strategy aligns to the business needs and objectives.

You will be responsible for designs, plans and manages the delivery of the Product Management requirements within the business, relating to IT enabled opportunities. As well as representing the businesses best interests with the customer base and BAE Systems globally.

You will provide advice and guidance to the service continuity planning process and implements resulting plans. You will investigate operational requirements and problems, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. You will be ensuring the underlying issues arising from investigations are documented and resolved, and managed, and any shortfalls according to agreed procedures. Analysis’s service and component availability, reliability, maintainability and serviceability will need to be provided, ensuring that services and components are met and continue to meet all of their agreed performance targets and service levels with function.

Your main responsibilities as an IT Project Management Application Owner will involve:
  • Managing aspects of the application lifecycle enabling the application to meet the needs of customers/users and achieve financial or other targets
  • Managing change and associated build and test in coordination with testers and component specialists whilst maintaining and administering the tools and methods. You will ensure release processes and procedures are maintained
  • Dealing with problems, issues, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information/managing resolutions
  • Specifying and developing test scenarios to test that new/updated processes deliver improved ways of working and planned business benefits
  • Leading on the investigation of operational requirements, problems, and opportunities
  • Being the Lead or point of contact for any new or improved practices, processes or standards and facilitates improvements to the services/applications
Essentials

Your skills and qualifications:
  • Experience of working in an IT Development Function
  • Manages Incident & Problem management activity and will work on the most complex issues with no need for supervision or support
  • Able to coach and mentor others
  • Awareness of business unit policies and processes
  • Can carry out routine configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of database and related products.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of working within a SIAM operating model would be beneficial
What We Are Looking For In You
  • Be trained at least to ITIL foundation or other appropriate capability training is preferable but not essential
  • Relevant vocational qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. HNC/ Prince 2 Foundation/ Computer Science Degree
  • Benchmark and review improved ways of working – continually seeking opportunities for productivity improvement, quality improvement and cost reduction
  • Must be confident and self-motivated and be capable of managing suppliers and other stakeholders to deliver quality output on time.
  • Be adaptable and able to negotiate
  • Can provide consultancy advice and guidance and manage through to completion any functional projects and activities
Location: Portsmouth Broad Oak, UK wide considered. Working on a hybrid basis but travel to site roughly once a week will be required

Salary: Up to £47,940
