Role purpose:



To execute procurement activities against best practice guidelines with some discretion over priorities of workload. Undertakes a range of activities and resolve queries for internal/external clients, related to primarily commercial elements of hardware provision. Contributes to the strategy to optimise LRQA’s supply chain position, driving down costs and ensuring risk mitigation to avoid non-compliance within IT and the wider business.



KeyResponsibilities:



Conducting procurement of IT goods and services, with a particular focus on hardware, to include sourcing and contract management



Working with the IT Licensing Specialist to deputise on their portfolio keeping them informed such that they can reciprocate



Providing regular reports and management information as requested by line manager and other colleagues



Liaising with internal clients to obtain feedback and improve processes and service



Reviewing suppliers and the wider market to continually improving performance and reducing costs.



Advising on optimisation and management of the existing hardware



Working closely with IT teams to develop and support the management of the IT service catalogue, dealing with requests for new goods and services from across the Company and ensuring that the hardware asset and administration processes are consistent with LRQA’s governance policies and expectations.



Optimising the supply chain for end user devices including logistical considerations using tiering as appropriate



Working closely with IT and Finance teams on forecasting and budgeting



Acting as the Subject Matter Expert in all matters relating to IT hardware acquisition and fulfilment,



Supporting any hardware asset register that may be created and maintained by IT, and proactively looking to recover unused and under-utilised hardware for reuse or resale to include whole lifecycle management.



Providing up to date knowledge and understanding of hardware provisioning models and technology by working with existing and new suppliers as well as internal technical experts.



Being a key liaison point between IT and key third-party software suppliers with the ability to hold complex IT hardware and service discussions with vendors and key stakeholders.



Working closely with the Service Desk to ensure they have the wherewithal to equip new staff and those changing role, as well as to reclaim assets from staff leaving the organisation.



Maintaining and prioritising a pipeline of work



Creating a category plan for IT hardware in collaboration with the Head of Category



Technical /Professional Qualifications / Requirements:



Higher education qualification in business related discipline.



Strong administration skills, with good knowledge of purchasing portals and financial systems.



Good knowledge of software and hardware asset management processes and systems.



Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution.



Ability to communicate at senior levels, both internally and with suppliers.



Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly MS Excel.



Ability to use own initiative, and with strong organisation capabilities and focus on attention to detail.



Flexible approach to adjust role as the position develops.



Strong team spirit. Demonstrate professional people skills and promote a team working environment across the area of business.



Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
