IT Procurement Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity to join an energetic and committed centralised Procurement team, supporting a growing organisation. This new role will be expected to transform the way we procure IT and technology services focussing on supply chain efficiencies, strategic supplier sourcing and creating mutually beneficial supplier relationships. Delivering tangible cost savings and building resilience in our supply chain is essential. This is a role for someone with a wide knowledge of IT Procurement, who likes a challenge and wants to make a noticeable difference to the team and the organisation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supports the implementation of the agreed Procurement Evolution Roadmap outputs, seeking to transform the procurement service to the business and support overall business strategy and targets. Serves as a role model to deliver an aligned and seamless service to the business.
  • Provides leadership, direction, coaching and support to members of the Procurement team so that the strategic objectives of the Procurement team are delivered.
  • Builds strong relationships business wide, partnering with IT and working together with operational and support functions to ensure that their business strategies are integrated into the procurement planning process and delivered in procurement activities to drive value.
  • Oversees the day-to-day activity of members of their Procurement team who are responsible for sourcing and placing orders for all goods and services to support the business. Providing support and coaching where required.
  • Negotiates and agree contracts with key suppliers. Ensures suppliers are compliant with our policies including Modern-Slavery, Anti-Fraud and Ethics.
  • Delivers strategic sourcing activities for large value, complex categories and supports the team to develop sourcing strategies which align with business and category strategies. This includes the subsequent implementation and management of them in terms of contract variations, claims, contract performance and contract innovation/enhancements.
  • Helps the business areas understand their spend profiles, supplier profiles and compliance to agreements.
  • Raise Purchase Orders for suppliers in line with policies and guidelines

Experience

  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Knowledge and proven experience of sourcing and contract management of IT suppliers.
  • Knowledge and proven experience of implementing different commercial models with suppliers
  • Experienced and skilled in formulating category strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal staff, and our suppliers, at all levels
  • Basic IT Skills – Word and Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.
