We have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Operational Risk & Control Manger to join Group IT in Manchester.

This Is a Key Role For The IT Department
  • Overseeing the application of operational risk policies, technology, tools and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing technology risk exposure, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Independently assessing risks and driving actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to technology risk by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
  • Liaising and working with the Group Risk function, aligning with their processes and reporting and contributing to the Corporate Risk Register, Key Risk Measures etc.
  • Being the driving force behind IT Operational Risk and Control within the IT Department.
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring risk and audit items are logged, tracked, and managed accordingly
  • Undertaking risk assessments with business SMEs, which involves identifying, analysing, describing and scoring the IT risks affecting the business
  • Escalating risk issues to the relevant stakeholders and governance forums as appropriate
  • Creating a suite of performance reports relevant to stakeholders and providing regular updates
  • Creation and maintenance of risk, audit and control management policies, processes, and procedural documentation in line with corporate standards
  • Identify process and control weaknesses and make recommendations for control improvements that will materially improve the risk and control framework
  • Maintaining CSI and implementing improvement features to enhance the maturity of the risk function
  • Coordinate and facilitate external audit responses through close collaboration with the Internal IT Auditor, being the main point of contact for the IT department
  • Ensure risk and controls are aligned to Group standards
  • Implementation of internal audit checks to provide assurance in IT processes and identify potential improvement opportunities
  • Conduct internal departmental audits on procedural and process compliance
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in working in a Risk Management / Analysis role
  • Experience of implementing Risk Management, Audit, and Control policies and processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO27001, NIST CSF is essential.
  • Influential relationship management skills with stakeholders and colleagues in pursuit of delivering a well utilised robust Risk Management process
  • The ability to influence other colleagues, teams and department heads to effectively embed Risk Management processes
  • Strong analytical skills, able to make sense of complex sets of data, analyse and report on for different audiences
  • Flexible approach to work with a focus on delivery to deadlines and high standards
  • Collaborative working with corporate Risk and Audit teams
  • Strong Excel skills and experience of dealing with complex formulae
Some travel to other Lookers Group sites and 3rd party suppliers may be necessary so the ability to drive and work outside of normal hours is essential.
