Our client is looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Lead & 3rd Line Engineer. Our client is a long established privately owned company that has provided logistics services since 1978. Today, they recognised as one of the UK’s foremost solution providers for both specialist logistics services and supply chain management.


This role offers a dynamic environment for improving systems and staying at the forefront of technology. Our client’s fast-paced IT team ensures each day is engaging and rewarding, all while maintaining a healthy work/life balance. This position requires office presence and occasional out-of-hours availability, so candidates should reside within commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the internal IT Infrastructure team.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
  • Focus on infrastructure projects and operations, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Collaborate closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager and Business Performance Director to prioritise workloads and adjust plans as needed.
  • Provide advanced-level support, troubleshoot, and maintain the organisation IT infrastructure.
  • Manage complex technical issues and implement agreed-upon solutions.
  • Ensure the stability and performance of our IT systems through collaboration with team members and contribution to decision-making processes.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure management and team leadership.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in third-line support/engineering.
  • Knowledge of ISO27001 standards and experience in information security practices.
  • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Azure Cloud, AWS, VSphere, VMware, SANs, servers, Intune, and Microsoft Defender.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective engagement with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to IT issue resolution.

  • Desirable:
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in ITIL or similar tools.
