Role responsibilities

The infrastructure Engineer will implement and maintain server infrastructures and systems within TfW including (Azure, Office 365 Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, File and Print) and will play a role in the design and implementation of new systems within TfW.

  • Implement and maintain Server Infrastructure within Azure and on-premises systems to ensure that systems are deployed, patched, and maintained to company standards and security requirements.
  • Responsible for successfully undertaking all systems back-ups by conducting periodic testing to ensure the validity of back-ups and replicas and to ensure all systems are appropriately backed up and recoverable.
  • Monitor server and storage performance metrics and undertake remedial action when required to resolve issues to maintain service levels. Escalate issues if architectural changes are required.
  • Maintain server uptime by trouble shooting, resolving alerts, reviewing logs and monitoring capacity to ensure systems and services are available to meet TfW business requirements.

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting and implementing virtual infrastructure in MS Azure.
  • Experience supporting Exchange 365, SharePoint, Azure Active Directory, Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Previous experience of configuration and deployment of Intune.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 10/11 Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022.
  • Experience of User & Security Group administration.
  • Practical understanding of IT Service Management frameworks. E.g., ITIL.
  • Previous experience of providing support for escalated tickets from the Service Desk and Security teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical subject matter to a non-technical audience.
  • Incident Management experience – Managing incidents including business expectations and communication.

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.

Cyfrifoldebau’r swydd

Bydd y Peiriannydd Seilwaith yn gweithredu ac yn cynnal a chadw systemau a seilwaith gweinydd yn TrC gan gynnwys Azure, Office 365 Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Ffeilio ac Argraffu a bydd yn chwarae rhan yn y gwaith o ddylunio a gweithredu systemau newydd yn TrC.

  • Gweithredu a chynnal Seilwaith y Gweinydd yn Azure a systemau ar y safle er mwyn sicrhau bod systemau’n cael eu defnyddio, eu patsio a’u cynnal yn unol â safonau a gofynion diogelwch y cwmni.
  • Bod yn gyfrifol am wneud pob copi wrth gefn o’r systemau drwy gynnal profion bob hyn a hyn i sicrhau bod y copïau wrth gefn a’r atgynhyrchiadau yn rhai dilys a sicrhau bod copi wrth gefn yn cael ei wneud o bob system a bod modd eu hadfer.
  • Monitro metrigau perfformio’r gweinydd a’r storfa a chymryd camau unioni pan fydd angen i ddatrys problemau er mwyn cynnal lefelau gwasanaeth. Uwchgyfeirio problemau os oes angen gwneud newidiadau pensaernïol.
  • Sicrhau bod y gweinydd yn gweithio drwy ddatrys problemau, datrys rhybuddion, adolygu cofnodion a monitro capasiti i sicrhau bod systemau a gwasanaethau ar gael i fodloni gofynion busnes TrC.
