Midsomer Norton (Office based)40,000 - 45,000 DOEAs a IT Infrastructure Engineer You Will
  • Manage the virtual server environment, data storage, backup & disaster recovery (DR), and firewall and network configuration.
  • Oversee network and endpoint security and vulnerability management, web and email security services, and MS Office 365.
  • Handle hardware, software, and services selection, procurement, configuration, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers and provide IT helpdesk support.
  • Adhere to governance and compliance procedures and standards.
  • Monitor and maintain infrastructure capacity, performance, and security.
  • Design and implement complex network solutions, including local area networks (LANs) and other network systems.
  • Evaluate and optimize network performance, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues.
  • Design and implement IT infrastructure solutions, monitor, and maintain IT infrastructure components.
  • Assess and identify potential vulnerabilities and risks in IT systems, design and implement security solutions.
  • Monitor and analyse security events and incidents, conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests.
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
  • Design, implement, migrate, and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policy, Terminal Services, LDAP, and Windows scripting/automation.
  • Assist in infrastructure projects like datacentre moves.
  • Experience in design, deployment, and management of a VMware server environment, including integration with storage (HP Alletra and MSA) and virtual networking.
Skills
  • Strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of anti-virus and other various software applications, familiarity with Enterprise NAS/SAN technologies.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems logically and methodically, and good judgment to involve and communicate with vendors, senior-level technicians, and management.
  • Strong understanding of Windows server and desktop operating systems, Windows. Linux skills would be a bonus.
