In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, maintenance and support of this caring company’s growing network infrastructure. The role will be a mixture of remote and office based.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up and configure corporate devices (e.g. laptops)
- Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, VPN)
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilisation, trending and capacity planning
- Responding to queries, running diagnostics, isolating problems and implementing solutions
- Provide First Line support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Select and implement security tools, policies and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (e.g. printers, monitor screens)
- Check computer hardware (HDD, mouse, keyboards, etc.) to ensure functionality
- Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience
- Proven experience working with Cloud-based network infrastructure
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Demonstrable ability to work within a team
- Change management skills
- Keen to adopt new systems and technology
- Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking
- Microsoft Office 365
- Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around management control, and monitoring of cloud- based server infrastructure
- Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
