About The Role

We now have new opportunities for a experienced Helpdesk Analysts to provide 1st and 2nd line support to Diamond staff and users for all systems, including hardware and software across all divisions and disciplines.

These are hands on roles that require strong Microsoft Windows/Office technical skills which you will use to resolve, record and track user calls through to completion, keeping the user informed of progress.

You will work with other internal and external IT groups to analyse and fix user issues including liaising with systems providers, and on some occasions dealing with complex Hardware and Software issues which cross the boundaries of Technical, Science and Corporate IT.

One of these roles will also have a particular focus on the setup and installation of IT for new staff including Desktop, Laptop and Telephony, as well as making arrangements for staff moves (relocation, installation & connection) and leaving arrangements.

Further responsibilities will include:

  • Providing first and second line support to Diamond staff and users for all systems in use including hardware and software
  • Advising and recommending on software use, license setup and configuration.
  • Ensuring and monitoring user adherence to IT Security policy in force including Anti-Virus software, IT security and governance.
  • Setup and installation of IT for new staff including Desktop, Laptop and Telephony.
  • Supporting Linux/Multimedia and Mac if required

About You

You should be educated to A Level standard or equivalent, with further qualifications and relevant Professional Certification desirable.

You will demonstrate recent relevant IT Helpdesk experience particularly with skills including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office to the latest versions and PC, laptop, networking, and printer support.

Mac and/or Linux knowledge/support experience is desirable, as is experience of new employee setup and installation.

You will demonstrate a solution focus with good organisation skills, along with excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
