At DS Smith we’re actively recruiting for a Field Based - IT Support Engineerto join our team in Caerphilly. The role will provide first and second line desktop and infrastructure support to our internal clients across a number of sites in South Wales and the South West of England.

About the role

The role will offer a varied mix of BAU support and project work such as deployments and upgrades. No two days are the same as you’ll be fixing a whole range of different problems and offering potential improvements, sharing your knowledge and experience with the wider team. You’ll also ensure our equipment and network remains safe and secure for our end-users.

You will primarily be based in Caerphilly but will be required to conduct regular travel to the South West of England, and be part of an on-call rota to support out-of-hours IT issues.

About you

You’ll have previous experience in a similar role, providing internal IT support for other organisations. You’ll be comfortable with a wide range of issues and will have a breath of knowledge of systems including Desktop/Laptop support, Office 365 applications, Network and Windows Server. We’d be particularly keen to speak to candidates who hold a relevant Comp TIA or Microsoft certification, but this isn’t essential. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would also be beneficial to this role.
