We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented and dependable IT engineer to help support our team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Microsost Server and products, security and network access, and will be responsible for supporting, installing, configuring and deploying information technology solutions. We’re looking for someone who has experience with IT systems support and deployment, as well as excellent time management skills. A successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot problems quickly, efficiently avoid any potential issues that may arise in the future and effectively manage customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

As part of our Service Desk Team, we are seeking an IT Support Engineer for a position handling 2nd-line and 3rd-line support tickets as well as supporting level 1 engineers with their day-to-day escalations.

  • Work with a team to establish technical specifications.
  • Work with business analysts to determine the needs of clients.
  • Design and implement integrated solutions for clients.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies.

The successful candidate shall have a proven track record in supporting the following technologies:

  • Microsoft End User Computing.
  • Microsoft on-prem Active Directory and Azure AD.
  • Microsoft on-premise systems such as Windows Server, Exchange Server and SQL Server.
  • Microsoft Office 365 Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and One Drive for Business.
  • Virtualisation technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
  • Firewalls, Routers, Switches and Wireless.
  • 2FA, Anti-Virus, Email Security systems.
  • Server, storage, and networking hardware infrastructure.
  • Experience in Cloud computing such as Microsoft Azure would also be desirable.

In most cases, we’ll communicate with our customers via telephone, RMM Tools, and email, but sometimes we’ll have to visit them in person. As well as working on the service desk, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on IT projects such as:

  • Presales engagements
  • System design
  • Installations
  • Migrations

We are looking for an individual who can:

  • Work in close partnership with our senior management team to develop and enhance our managed services offerings and to help manage and grow the department
  • Deploy and support all technologies in accordance with the company’s agreed best practices and contribute to future best practice refinements
  • Maintain certification levels in the core technology set to a satisfactory minimum standard, through a combination of self-study and company provided training materials

In order to succeed in this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be eligible to live and work in the UK and hold a full UK/EU driving license
  • Hold verifiable current technical certifications
  • Be equally comfortable working alone, as part of a team or remotely on a client site
  • Present themselves as smart and credible, customer-facing and service-oriented
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Credibly demonstrate a positive, ‘can-do’ approach, not be fazed by the unfamiliar and be willing to ‘go the extra mile in order to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Provide support to staff and the entire department
