Summary / purpose of the position

The Data Value Office (DVO) is a newly established unit in Global IT acting as the counterpart for business functions which is led by the Chief Data Officer (CDO). The focus of the Data Value Office is to detail and execute Ipsen’s Global Data Strategy and Analytics Strategy to unlock the full potential of data across all functions.

Therefore, the Data Value Office is responsible to develop a Global Data & Analytics Operating Model, a Global Data Governance framework to support functions with the implementation of data governance as well as enabling Data Management and Analytics capabilities.

The Data & Analytics Strategy Lead acts on behalf of the Chief Data Officer to advise and guide on the design of the Data and Analytics Strategy supporting the overall digital transformation journey.

Therefore, we are looking for a Data & Analytics Strategy Lead working at the enterprise level who has a strong strategic mindset, deep experience in change management up to C-level and brings a broad knowledge about all functions of a pharmaceutical company to drive the change, translate business requirements into data & analytics requirements and drive the implementation of the data governance framework across the organization in delegation of the Chief Data Officer.

Main Responsibilities / Job Expectations

Responsible to drive the design of the global data & analytics strategy and roadmap
  • Translating use cases into technical, skill and process requirements and derive the overall data and analytics strategy
  • Defining the overall data governance strategy across all data domains linked to broader business priorities and regulatory requirements
  • Developing the data and analytics roadmap with a focus on value generation and ensuring continuous update
  • Identifying required data governance tools as well as driving the implementation including design of required processes, roles and responsibilities and potential charge back models
  • Designing and implementing standard templates across the organization
  • Continuously gathering feedback, updating the strategies and frameworks, and aligning changes across data domains
Responsible to drive the change and foster data culture and literacy across the organization
  • Detailing communication plan and designing communication material
  • Actively driving the change across all hierarchy levels (up to C-level) including communications and training to foster overall data culture and literacy and ensure that the organization understands that data should be treated as an asset
  • Developing a training concept around analytics and data, preparing, and facilitating trainings across all hierarchy levels
Responsible to facilitate data governance globally
  • Defining data governance KPI’s and aligning these with data governance roles across data domains to ensure continuous tracking
  • Generating insights around data quality and deriving mitigation plan
  • Acting as the “go to person” for all data governance leads to support individual data domain governance
  • Facilitation of key data governance bodies
Experience / Qualifications

Experience / Qualifications
  • BSc. / MSc. / Ph.D. in Computer science or quantitative field (Statistics, Management Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Finance, etc.)
  • 6-8 years of data management and analytics experience, ideally from a strategy or management consultancy or an industrial company – life sciences / pharma would be an advantage
  • Minimum of 3-5 years enterprise data governance experience incl. hands on experience with the design and implementation of an enterprise data governance framework, ideally from a strategy or management consultancy or an industrial company with life sciences / pharma focus
  • Functional expertise in the relevant areas of a pharmaceutical company Commercial, Finance, Research & Development, Human Resources, Supply Chain & Quality
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on the “bigger picture”
  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across functions at a senior level to influence and effect change to achieve common goals
  • Proven data literacy — The ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options. The ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business, and IT stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership; proven track record of achieving results by working through a network of stakeholders without direct authority
  • Experience in the implementation of enterprise data catalogs
  • Experience in integrating complex and cross-corporate processes
  • Analytical skills — Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • English language
  • Would be an advantage:
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g. GXP, GDPR)
  • Good knowledge of standards (e.g. CDISC, ISO, SPOR, IDMP)
  • French language
