Hollies Medical Practice, Tamworth

IT and Quality Supervisor

Full time - 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday.

We have an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive IT and Quality Supervisor to join our busy team at the Hollies Medical Practice in Tamworth. The Hollies is a friendly, high achieving practice based on the edge of Tamworth town centre and provides care to 15,800 patients. As part of the Mercian network we are a forward thinking practice and are keen to embrace new methods of working, for the benefit of our staff and patients.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or relevant IT or systems experience, have a positive attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will be expected to be proactive in ensuring a high quality of service is maintained. Working with clinicians and management to set and monitor standards to ensure health care standards are being met. They will have strong IT skills, be self motivated, reliable and committed to providing a high quality service.

Key responsibilities are:

IT systems

1. To be an advanced user of EMISweb and create templates, searches and protocols as required to improve efficiencies.

2. To develop an understanding of the systems that are used within the practice to review whether they are being used correctly and in the most efficient way.

3. To run and analyse reports that have been created on the clinical system.

4. To be the first line IT support and assist with IT hardware issues that occur within the practice such as issues with printers.

5. Be responsible for running system updates and ensuring practice laptops are up to date with their security patches. Record and manage location of practice laptops.

6. Be responsible for logging faults and liaising with IT or system providers to resolve issues.

Quality

1. To develop new working processes within the practice by analysing existing working practices and suggesting changes designed to ensure efficient service delivery to patients.

2. To be involved in projects and audits with Clinicians with the aim of improving the quality of care provided to patients.

3. Overseeing clinic management data to ensure the systems are being run effectively and support staff with workload prioritisation, if appropriate.

4. Ensure EMIS Web clinical data input meets coding requirements so that practice income from QOF, enhanced services and the NHS contract is optimised. Audit and highlight areas for improvement and relevant action

5. Amend template letters and ensure coding accurate. Liaise with the data quality team at the CSU to ensure referral forms are up to date and accurate.

6. Carry out reporting and format data as required for any services provided in conjunction with the Mercian network.

7. Support the management team to interpret NHS requirement for Practice performance data and ensure the capture of such data is integrated into working practices and protocols.

8. Carry out ad hoc data quality checks and present results. Identify any inconsistencies and highlight areas where action may be required.
