In developing, managing and coordinating initiatives to target both UK and international inward investment, the role will work extensively in partnership with stakeholders in London and central government and with private sector partners, as well as international players.From working to land new investment in the borough to ensuring provision of high-quality aftercare and securing a visual presence for the borough as a leading economic hotspot at key events, the role will provide a varied and exciting workload.Our mission is to be the best council. In Hammersmith & Fulham, we want to use the power of local government to create a borough able to compete with the best in the 21st century.The focus of our Economic Development service and a refreshed Industrial Strategy will be the continued growth of the borough’s highest potential and most resilient sectors, specifically, life sciences, biomed, digital, tech, creative, and green industries.As Inward Investment and Internationalisation Officer the postholder will support the Head of Service in identifying and securing key funding from the private and public sector, such as the GLA, as well as supporting initiatives which target both UK and international inward investment and leading on the marketing and promotion of the borough as an investment destination.It will also oversee evolving plans to strengthen our existing partnerships with the borough’s twinned municipalities of Neukölln in Berlin and Anderlecht in Brussels and establish further partnerships more widely across Europe.You Will
  • Lead on the borough’s strategic investment priorities, providing an intelligent client link to stakeholders.
  • Develop, manage and coordinate initiatives which target both UK and international inward investment.
  • Attract foreign direct investment, signposting businesses seeking Growth Capital to investors.
  • Lead on and implement strategies to market and promote the borough as an investment destination including the creation of a new dedicated website.
  • Lead on identifying target sectors and target firms to attract and land in H&F and provide ongoing aftercare for new businesses.
