Overview: Our Investment Consulting Practice Area offers investment consultancy services to institutional investors such as pension scheme trustees, employers, universities, charities, local authorities and family offices. We are a growing team offering a wide range of areas of expertise including:

• providing tailored, sophisticated investment strategy advice for our defined benefit and defined contribution pension scheme clients;
• working together with other BW Business Areas to provide a market leading holistic approach to journey planning for our defined benefit pension scheme clients, as well as specialist advice on eventual buy-out;
• helping our clients to understand and implement sustainable investments strategies;
• providing expert advice to organisations with a multi-generational investment horizon, such as family offices, endowments and foundations;
• enabling trustees to gain independent confidence in their fiduciary management arrangements, via the use of our fiduciary management evaluate service.
• involvement in a wide range of investment research areas, underpinning our ability to provide clients with the advice they need.

We are looking to recruit an Investment Consult to help support the strong growth the team has already seen, and has planned for in future.

This role can be based at any of our 9 UK offices, so please specify your preferred location when applying. We operate ‘Smart Working’ principles whereby work takes place at the most effective locations (remotely as well as in the office) and at the most effective times whilst respecting the needs of the client, the individual and the team.
Responsibilities: You will be responsible for formulating advice and presenting it to clients at meetings. You’ll manage small and large clients, taking responsibility for the team servicing those clients, making sure work is of a high standard as well as completed on within deadlines and agreed budgets. You’ll have opportunities to become involved in research and development, as well as helping to support and develop the more junior members of the team to meet their career objectives.

You will have the opportunity to get involved in a range of our different areas of expertise, which can be tailored to accommodate your interests, subject to meeting our overall business needs.
Qualifications: The role requires you to be either FIA, FFA or CFA qualified with prior experience in providing investment consultancy advice.

You’ll be self-motivated with the ability to take personal responsibility for the provision of services to our clients. You’ll have strong problem solving abilities and be confident in answering queries raised by clients, whilst also understanding who is best placed to research or answer other queries. You’ll be able to manage your own workload effectively, which will include delegating work to other team members and ensuring timescales commitments are kept. You’ll also have the ability to explain technical issues in simplified terms to clients as well as more junior members of the team.
