Summary

The Governors of this beautiful village school are seeking to appoint a temporary Teaching Assistant to join our skilled and friendly staff team. Ideally you will have experience already of supporting pupils’ learning in a school setting.

The Main Duties Will Be
  • To support pupils’ learning, through 1:1 work and within small groups
  • To give close support to enable pupils to process task requirements
  • To follow programmes of learning set by the class teacher and external professionals
  • To support pupils’ self-esteem, social and emotional development
  • To support and work closely with the class teacher in order to meet pupils’ needs
  • To deliver intervention to specific groups or individuals in both KS1 and KS2
We are looking for applicants with the following personal skills and qualities:
  • Good Numeracy and Literacy skills, including knowledge of phonics teaching
  • Understanding of how children learn and potential barriers to learning
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults
  • Ability to use initiative and be flexible
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills
Calm personality, patience, adaptability, resilience and good sense of humour

Hours of work: 26.25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Contract type: Temporary for one year in the first instance
