The University of Nottingham is seeking to recruit an International Relations Manager for the Middle East, Turkey and UKI, to join the International Student Recruitment team. The University of Nottingham’s UK campuses are home to around 9,500 international and EU students from more than 150 countries. Our International Student Recruitment team are responsible for promoting the University, providing support to prospective students of all study levels from first enquiry through to enrolment. The team also provide advice and guidance to University schools and faculties on all aspects of international student recruitment, and work with an external network of international agents, high school counsellors, university advisers and sponsor bodies.We are looking for a talented individual who is equipped to use their knowledge and experience to help ensure that the University meets its international student recruitment targets. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the International Student Recruitment team and will be responsible for the recruitment of international students to the University from Middle East, Turkey and UKI. The role will focus on all stages of the student journey, from enquiry generation through to converting the student to registration on campus. This will involve leading on key priority markets, representing the University at overseas and online events, liaison with internal and external stakeholders, and developing and disseminating expert knowledge for the specified portfolio of countries. The International Relations Manager will also be responsible for managing direct reports where appropriate; leading, motivating and managing staff to achieve agreed objectives. Typically this would be either out-posted recruitment officers operating within the agreed regional portfolio, colleagues based within the office providing broader administrative support, or international student ambassadors. The International Relations Manager would be required to deputise for the Senior International Relations Managers as required.Candidates must be educated to bachelor degree level (2:2 classification or international equivalent) and experience of international student recruitment, undergraduate and postgraduate admissions cycles and travel outside of the UK (preferably for work or study) is required. We are seeking an individual who can demonstrate cross cultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills, and a demonstrable ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and committed, with the ability to work effectively in a group and use their own initiative when undertaking work individually. Experience and knowledge of the principles of marketing, in particular the use of social and digital media is desirable, but not essential.This position is offered on a permanent basis.
