Job title: Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) Manager
Location: Isle of Man
Closing date: 1st July 2021

The opportunity:
An opportunity has arisen for an Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) Manager to continue developing and co-ordinating Zurich’s Internal Control Integrated Framework (ICIF) across our finance function. This would suit a motivated individual with proven experience who is able to support the business in maintaining a strong internal control environment within Zurich International financial reporting department.
Key responsibilities:
  • Manage and complete the annual ICFR Internal Control Assessment and risk based scoping process.
  • Work with finance control and process owners to identify, design, document, review control improvement measures and resolve control related queries.
  • Provide training to Process and Control owners to ensure the maintenance of ICFR process and control documentation, including process maps, and where necessary coordinate walkthroughs to validate.
  • Assist the finance function to identify potential impact on control environment during business change and system enhancements / projects, change in accounting regulations, internal policies etc.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of ICFR annual testing activities, including liaison with Group and external auditors.
  • Monitor the quarterly control evaluation and sign off process, overseeing the accuracy of completion across the finance function.
  • Highlight issues and remedial actions required to Head of FAR and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Work closely with the Internal Control Manager within the Risk function, to ensure ICFR and relevant IT General Controls are complete and operationally effective.
  • Implement control framework initiatives as required by Group through Zurich’s Risk Policy (ZRP) and / or regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee outsourced finance processes.

Your skills and experience:
  • Experience working in a large company environment. Proven financial or auditing experience with exposure to Sarbanes – Oxley requirements would be advantageous.
  • A relevant professional qualification is desirable but not essential e.g. Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or actuary.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (oral, written and presentation) and stakeholder management skills to engage effectively across various levels of the organisation, including senior management.
  • Ability to prioritise, coordinate and deliver within stringent reporting deadlines.
