What is an Internal Business Development Executive?

The business development executive, or BDE, informs others about company products and services and acts as the point of contact for both new and existing clients for their territory. Building a meaningful relationship with clients promoting the Strongdor values and vision.

The Business Development Executive will be a key role employed to drive forwards our business relationships and solutions within the Strongdor customer database.

Business Development Executive Responsibilities:

  • Contact potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
  • Organise, plan and arrange customer meetings for Regional Sales Managers (RSM’s).
  • Organise and conduct factory tours and office visits.
  • Plan and assist new marketing initiatives.
  • Research organisations and individuals to find new opportunities.
  • Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
  • Find and develop new markets and improve sales.
  • Create goals in collaboration with the Sales Manager for the business development team for business growth and ensure the goals are met.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets, whilst developing strong and long-lasting client relationships with both existing and new retail partners.
  • Identify key B2B as well as B2C sales opportunities and convert successfully.
  • Deliver creative solutions to overcome obstacles and drive profitability.
  • Work closely with other departments within the business to drive success.
  • When required assist and complete supplier questionnaires.
  • Collate and share action items from Business Development meetings to relevant departments.
  • Follow up on these actions and report back to customers and the transactional team.
  • Arrange follow-up meetings with customers where required.
  • Responsible for the growth and nurturing key account targets.
  • Look for market, service and product opportunities and report back to department heads.
  • Working closely with the Sales Manager, Corporate Account Manager and Sales Director to ensure that annual account plans are on target.
  • Any other responsibilities or tasks as required to meet the needs of the business.

Internal BDE Requirements:

  • Experience in sales, remote sales, travelling sales or related field.
  • Experience in the manufacturing, installation or repair and maintenance of steel doors.
  • DIP GAI or other industry relevant qualification desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.

Experience:
