Search Consultancy is currently working with an established retail business with circa 200 stores across the UK to identify an Internal Audit Manager. They are one of the Sunday Times Top Track 250 largest private companies and are growing. Reporting directly into the CFO the role involves managing a team of 5.

You will be overseeing the risk management framework of the business ensuring that it remains relevant and forward thinking in the approach to operational and financial risk and organisational resilience.

You will also be collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure the risk framework is translated into an internal audit program that provides reassurance on the activity undertaken in the store network, web operations, central warehouse and the central support functions.

Other responsibilities will include ensuring that the Audit department’s aims and objectives are wholly aligned to, and its actions fully integrated with, the strategic aims of the Company and liaising with, and supporting the Group Board, Trading Board and Senior Management teams in the implementation of the business strategy in respect of all Risk management needs ensuring the legal and security obligations of the business are fulfilled.

You will be required to manage and mentor the Audit team, providing visible leadership, direction and coaching to ensure they have the capacity, capability, and training to consistently deliver the high standard of performance required by the Company across the audit function.

To be considered for this role you will have:

Experience of effective People Management

Management of an internal audit team in a B2B environment

Previous experience in a Retail/Trade business

Previous experience as an Internal Audit Manager

Confident self-motivator with ability to manage own time effectively, work under pressure and to deadlines, with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Desire for continual improvement, embracing technology and driving efficient ways of working

Ability to work within a team environment as well as being proactively independent

Preferably hold an Internal Audit based qualification such as CIIA or equivalent

Hold a Full UK Driving License

Salary Circa £55,000 - £60,000 per annum + company car + 34 days holiday + pension plan with excellent level of company contributions plus non contributory life assurance + private medical insurance plus contributory health cash plan + profit share scheme (after 1 year)
