We are looking for an Interim Secondary and Further Education Programme Manager to join our Learning team.
The Interim Secondary and Further Education Programme Manager will oversee the delivery of the National Theatre’s nationwide offer to Secondary Schools and Further Education Colleges, pending a permanent appointment, expected to be by April 2022. The Secondary and FE programme includes the Drama Teacher Conference and New Views. These will be key areas of focus for the Interim Programme Manager. The programme aims to widen access to high quality theatre and drama and reduce inequalities between schools and students in their engagement with the artform.
The Interim Secondary and FE Programme Manager reports to the General Manager and works closely with the Director of Learning on all aspects of the programme’s delivery.
The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage budgets, to oversee programmes of work, working to fixed deadlines, while managing the collection of data and evaluating projects.
  • Some experience in leading digital events and considerable experience leading in-person events.
  • Some experience coordinating learning programmes in a theatre and/or performing arts institution, with experience of working with secondary schools and FE colleges.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of theatre and theatre-making
  • Experience of managing freelance staff and in-depth knowledge of artists and practitioners working professionally in the field of theatre and education.
  • An extensive knowledge of schools and the current education and cultural context.
  • Good teamworking, collaborative and creative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
