The post sits within Academic and Financial Planning and Analysis (AFPA), which is part of the Finance Division of the University’s Professional Services arm, the Unified Administrative Service (UAS). AFPA contributes directly to sustaining the University’s leading position by enabling effective planning, the management and allocation of resources and the provision of management information, reporting and analysis. AFPA provides support for strategic decisions with a direct influence on the University’s financial sustainability, its future size and shape, and its continuing development.

This role, and a Finance Advisor line managed by this role, has primary functional responsibility for resource allocation and budgeting for the University’s non-School institutions, providing strategic and operational financial leadership. A key element of the role (0.4fte) is to provide direct Finance Manager support to Fitzwilliam Museum Enterprises (FME) Ltd, with overall responsibility for their finance office functions and to lead the year end audit.

The role is likely to suit a qualified accountant with significant post-qualified operational experience gained in complex matrix organisations, who has the ability to identify and engage with the culture and objectives of an elite research-intensive University.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 7 months in the first instance.
