Job Title: Interim Inventory Controller (8 Month Contract)

Reports to: Inventory Manager

Location: Spinneyfields Farm, Main Road, Worleston, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 6DN

Hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day, core hours - 10am-4pm

Salary: Up to £30,000 depending on experience

ROLE PURPOSE:





To implement inventory control measures to ensure the company minimises stock holding, product losses, and maximises stock control and resource utilisation efficiency.





Key Areas of Responsibility:



  • Adopt an ethos of "safety first" taking responsibility for Health & Safety performance and reporting, ensuring risks and issues are actioned immediately in line with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Monitor and report mouldy block and off-cut stock levels, preparing stock to be removed and returned in line with quality and inventory processes.
  • Manage exposed stocks through consumption or sale, working cross-functionally to identify and drive actions to minimise stock loss and disposal.
  • Assist in business projects and change initiatives to inspire action and drive operational excellence in Warehousing and Supply Chain.
  • Engage in the development of improvements in the effectiveness of Warehouse operations through contribution to cross-functional working, performance improvement initiatives and the development of operational process.
  • Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations in accordance with group Inventory policies.
  • Managing and control perpetual inventory stock counting/inventory accuracy checks to ensure the correct amount and quality of items are in stock enabling accurate storage, picking and dispatch working to just in time principles.
  • Reconciliation of stock throughout all internal and external locations in line with group policies.
  • Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts for reporting.
  • Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and records.
  • Ensure Dolav and pallet availability by contracting and ordering from suppliers and customers.





Key requirements





  • Educated to good GCSE level or equivalent
  • Food Hygiene level 2 qualification
  • Certificate in Health & Safety, Manual Handling and Food Hygiene
  • Forklift Truck/Counterbalance licence (RTITB)
  • Experience of working in a fast paced retail wholesale, warehouse or logistics
  • Experience of working within inventory management principles and processes
  • Previous experience of inventory control through Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Structured, organised approach with keen attention to detail
  • Flexible, resilient and persistent in approach to delivery
  • Highly motivated and driven to deliver results and positive outcomes
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills
