Interim Accounts Assistant - Truro / Hybrid - Full or Part time (Min 3 days) - 6 months contract Minimum

Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively assigned by one of our long standing clients, a specialist hospitality services business based on the outskirts of Truro (with free parking). The company has enjoyed exceptional growth and continues to expand across the southwest and beyond, hence the finance function is growing in parallel. The company now seeks to recruit an Accounts Assistant who will work closely with a highly experienced Finance Director. The position will be offered on an initial 6 month contract, either on a full or part time arrangement, and the company offers hybrid working (currently Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday office based and Thursday and Friday home/remote).

This is a broad role where the successful candidate will enjoy a wide range of duties to include:
  • Accounts payable; matching invoices, setting up and maintaining supplier records, weekly payment runs, reconciliation of credit card transactions, creation of purchase ledger invoices
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Account reconciliations
  • Generation of customer statements
  • Assist with month and year end reporting
  • Other ad-hoc finance duties as required
For this role we seek a candidate who possesses at least 12-18 months of general finance experience to include accurate maintenance of an accounts payable function. Candidates may be part/fully AAT qualified or qualified by experience. Good all-round IT experience and ideally (though not essentially), experience of using Sage based accounting systems required.
