Summary

As a Intelligence Supervisor, your role will be to drive, manage and lead on the development of intelligence in support of the NCA’s mission.

You will manage projects, operations and intelligence development plans to contribute to the National Strategic Assessment, Annual Plan, National Intelligence Requirements and National Control Strategy to drive business and aid the fight to cut serious and organised crime.

You will lead on the cross-source data exploitation, analysis, delivery and dissemination of Intelligence products to drive activity to combat serious and organised crime, in support of both tactical and strategic objectives.

You will interact with other NCA departments and teams, and external partners including government, Law Enforcement, UK Intelligence Community, public, private and third sector partners.

Your role will be to support analytic teams and/or other stakeholders with the tasking of intelligence assets and collection of information, utilising the full range of covert and overt resources at the NCA’s disposal.

Job description

National Cyber Crime Unit - leads the UK’s fight against cybercrime and uses specialist capabilities and expertise to support law enforcement partners across the UK and coordinate the entire UK response to cybercrime.

  • IPP Intelligence Officer accreditation or equivalent experience as listed in the technical and experience criteria as an Intelligence Supervisor.

All of our Senior Intelligence Officers are required to hold Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) accreditation or be able to provide evidence of the equivalent experience within the answers to the technical criteria. This evidence should have been attained within the last 1 to 2 years.

Please Note: If you do not have IPP Intelligence Officer accreditation your equivalent experience will be assessed from your responses to the technical criteria.

***All NCA officers must hold SC Enhanced upon entry as a minimum. To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years. For more information please see the Candidate information Pack***

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role include:

The Senior Intelligence Officer is responsible for the management and development of intelligence within the NCCU, ensuring the full spectrum of tools and resources are exhausted by Intelligence Officers to ensure the complete picture is understood with regards to a subjects role in criminality, or with regards a current specific threat.

Working closely with colleagues across the NCCU, particularly Operational and Technical teams, the Senior Officer is responsible for maintaining relationships and having a broad understanding of their roles and responsibilities with regards a Team Cyber focus.

A background in Cyber is not required to join NCCU Intelligence. Each officer is provided with a bespoke training package to get you job ready and continuous Professional Development is supported whilst in post. DV STRAP will be a requirement for the role.
