Airswift is hiring a I&C Engineer to work with our client in Aberdeen on a 6-month contract.

Intent

Medium to long range focus on reliability issues from an I&C Engineering perspective for site operations related queries/activities/risks to deliver safe, reliable and compliant operations. Collaborates with Facility Support Squads and Site Engineer to identify longer term engineering solutions to reduce risk and grow IPC.

Responsibilities

Performs I&C Engineering support to the Reliability Team to deliver solutions to equipment reliability, working closely with the Facility Support Squads and Site Engineer to resolve reliability issues.

Ensures asset I&C Engineering risks are understood, controlled and continuously reduced. Participates in asset risk assessments (Comment: relevant scope includes ICSS, HMI, system security, package interfaces, instrumentation, fire & gas, and safety systems). Monitors health of I&C equipment and associated operating envelopes. Monitors KPIs for I&C equipment e.g. alarm system metrics, control loop performance, advanced control utilization etc, and initiates corrective actions as necessary.

Provides I&C Engineering support to technical MoCs and Engineering Queries/ May initiate Engineering Queries and provide feedback on EQ verification/prioritisation to site). Supports delivery of the OMS 6.1 Production Efficiency Improvement and Defect Elimination process (Comment: relevant activities include review of initial 5 Whys from operations, performing simple defect investigations for deferrals and vulnerabilities, deciding the need for more complex investigation identifying cause(s) following investigation, and recommending and completing actions from investigations). Identifies production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and grow IPC. Collaborates with I&C Engineering team on spares management, health care provision and obsolescence management.

Experience And Job Requirements

Understanding of reliability principles and methodologies with demonstrable experience in reliability systems and diagnostics. Technical knowledge and experience in managing equipment reliability.

Significant experience in either an internal or external engineering role, or similar. Experience on an operating site.

Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks. Sound stakeholder management experience.

Education

Degree in Engineering or related discipline and/or equivalent relevant professional qualification.

Professional accreditation, e.g. Chartered Engineer (UK).
