We have a fantastic opportunity for an Insight Analyst to join our Research and Insight team. The role of Insight Analyst is naturally drawn to data and helps Consumer Intelligence to create Exciting Insight for our customers, giving them a competitive edge in the insurance industries and beyond.

You will work closely with colleagues and clients to keep our insights concise, fresh, and meaningful, using your technical expertise to look for new ways to apply analytical techniques and better understand the richness of our data. This role is a core part of the business and relies on attention to detail in finding nuggets of data that will positively influence our insight, as well as leveraging your commercial awareness to add credibility to the conclusions drawn.
You will be able to identify and analyse interesting data, make the numbers come alive and turn them into clear and concise insight, confidently articulating your analytical practises and findings within the Research & Insight team, and other internal and external stakeholders.

What you will do

  • Be accountable for providing high-quality research, reporting and analytics that helps customers see the world through the eyes of a consumer and helps them improve their services
  • Work with various business areas to continuously explore and improve the credibility and value of our insight
  • Simplify complex analysis so it can be easily communicated across all levels and specialisms
  • Continuously develop insurance industry knowledge by keeping up to date with industry news to find new and interesting insight into data as the industry changes and develops
  • Explore new techniques in data science and data analytics to create new methodologies and models for analysing our data
  • Be part of our process of innovation, challenging yourself to find new and interesting insights from our data
  • Deliver on-time and accurately

What you will need*

  • Excellent analytical skills nurtured in a commercial environment
  • A willingness to ask questions and to challenge the status quo in search of fresh new insight
  • Experience in translating raw data into meaningful and understandable information, and using data visualisation tools to present information in an engaging way
  • Strong grounding in knowledge of techniques used to derive insight from data, subject matter expertise in data analytics leading to credibility within the company and its clients.
  • Naturally curious about what data is saying and questioning clients or others for additional input
  • Innovative: looking for new ways to explore data models as well as potential links to new data sources or other events. Not afraid to experiment and admit when new techniques have failed Comfortable working with and interpreting numerical information, relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and a good working knowledge of PowerBI, PowerPoint & Word
  • Focussed on winning together: being a team player working to first help clients improve
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of software such as R, SPSS, QlikView, Qlik Sense, Tableau, SAS, Python or SQLis beneficial , but it is more important that you are comfortable learning new ways of working and applying learnings quickly

Our office is based in a prime central Bristol location, only a few minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station, the Bristol to Bath cycle path, and well connected to major South West bus routes.
This role will be based in Bristol on a full time, permanent basis. Remote onboarding and home working is possible, but the ideal candidate will be able to commute to our Bristol office when required.
