Location: Nottingham (At least 3 days a week in the office)

We are recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Manager to fulfil a newly created role within a Global Software business. Working from the Nottingham office with the opportunity to spend some time working from a home office, you will be responsible for delivering operational excellence for the on-premise and Cloud infrastructure used globally across the group to provide high-throughput solutions to all customers. You will lead a team of engineers across Europe who look after physical and virtualised environments built using both Windows and Linux environments and IaaS/PaaS within Azure.

Operational Excellence is key to the availability and security of the 24/7 environments that provide critical services to businesses around the world and this role ensures the business operate a Continual Improvement Cycle across the infrastructure estate, learning from alerting, monitoring and telemetry.

What you’ll be doing

As Infrastructure Manager you will be responsible for:

• ? Implementing industry best practice infrastructure management, processes and procedures in an always-on global environment

• ? Actively managing and ensuring that the platforms are secured and protected to the highest standards across both on-premise and Azure infrastructure

• ? Performing regular perimeter and vulnerability scanning across the infrastructure estate with clear remediation plans

• ? Planning and implementation of the infrastructure roadmap to transition the on-premise platforms onto public or private cloud with clear goals and timelines

• ? Providing infrastructure services to the internal development/engineering teams to help manage the necessary environments that support SDLC

• ? Capacity planning and management across the infrastructure estate with a focus on reducing complexity and the footprint through consolidation

• ? Working with internal compliance and security stakeholders to maintain standards across both on-premise and Azure infrastructure

• ? Working with external 3rd parties and Managed Service Providers who provide services for the infrastructure

• ? Managing crisis and incident communications during disruptions to technology services to highlight appropriate user impacts and maintain service levels

• ? Reporting on Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements for the global infrastructure and ensuring that they are met

• ? Leadership and line management of infrastructure and support engineers; striving to develop your team and invest in their careers to help with the transition to Cloud

• ? Being part of and maintaining an on-call rota covering all infrastructure, including acting as a management escalation point

• ? Coordination of penetration testing activities, IT audits, risk events, vulnerability management, disaster recovery and business continuity tests

• ? Ensuring that the team can provide support across all our platforms by increasing operational knowledge of each platform and documenting processes and architectures

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in hearing from candidates with experience in the following areas:

• ? Implementing infrastructure management best practices for both on-premise and Cloud

• ? Proven experience in managing high traffic web services that have to be fast, reliable, secure and compliant

• ? Implementing security and patching best practices across a wide on-premise estate using both Microsoft and Linux O/S

• ? Deployment and maintenance of information security controls

• ? Leadership of Infrastructure and Support Engineers in a 24/7 environment

• ? Management of Windows Server and Linux Servers in a large scale environment

• ? Management of network infrastructure in a multi-data centre environment

• ? Managing a Technical Support/Reactive ticket based workload

• ? Working with development and engineering teams to run web based SaaS software

• ? Migration of on-premise infrastructure to Cloud (ideally Azure)

It would be great if you also had:

• ? Worked in an environment that is ISO27001 compliant or equivalent

• ? Experience of DevOps, automation, developer productivity and security using IaC

• ? Experience of working in a SaaS organisation

• ? Ability to speak Italian

• ? Cisco networking qualifications

• ? Microsoft SQL Server Operations and Administration

• ? Management and administration of a Cloud environment (ideally Azure)

• ? Onboarding infrastructure from mergers and acquisitions
