Job Description


The role:

The IT Infrastructure team is responsible for managing the IT infrastructure environment and also assisting with projects to deliver solutions across the OSTC Group. You and your team will keep the OSTC IT Infrastructure running smoothly, by resolving complex hardware, software, server, networks and infrastructure issues.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the CTO, you will provide oversight of the IT infrastructure for all OSTC regions, the extent of your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Leading a team of Engineers responsible for providing server and network infrastructure support.
  • Driving operational excellence in everything the team does. This includes creating processes, procedures, and automation to improve efficiency in day-to-day tasks and projects. You will work closely on supporting internal customers and ensuring that their needs and issues are being addressed.
  • Ownership of all facets of performance and career management for the team. Regular one-on-one meetings with all team members are required. You will be expected to provide both technical and coaching/mentoring in order to maintain a well-rounded performance and effective succession planning.
  • Ensuring that all relevant data is properly collected and stored. This can include performance metrics, service levels, server status and both planned and unplanned system outages.
  • Identify potential IT infrastructure risks, communicate, log and recommend solutions.
  • Ensuring everyone in your team takes full ownership, ensuring effective reporting while working towards efficient, internal customer satisfaction.
  • Developing team capabilities and expertise to provide a high quality service to the business.
  • Inspire continuous improvement of all IT team processes and initiatives driving operational excellence.
  • Staying abreast of business updates and current industry trends and new technologies.
  • Maintain a secure infrastructure across the Group, including Boundary security, Network Devices, Backups, Multi-Factor Authentication, Microsoft 365, Group Policy, Active Directory.
  • Responsible for designing, specifying, configuring, installing, maintaining LAN/WAN hardware, software and telecommunications equipment across all OSTC sites.
  • Managing 3rd party service providers, including negotiating contracts and SLAs.

Qualifications


You possess solidexperience in IT Infrastructure Operations, IT Service Management, or IT Business Operations. You demonstrate strong analytical skills, along with a validated problem-solving ability. Additionally, you exhibit excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

Required skills and experience:

  • Effective project management skills, alongside the ability to deal effectively with all levels of seniority, in a variety of situations.
  • ITIL, Prince2, NSE4, WMware, Server, Networking and Azure cloud certifications would be advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of the role of IT in driving productivity, efficiency and growth, as much as protecting profit and safeguarding assets
  • Experience in managing technology within a fast-paced, growing business
  • Demonstrated technical experience with Windows Server 2012 – 2022, SAN, VMware, PowerShell, SQL Server, networking (Firewalls, Routing, VPN, Switches, Storage), Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune, and Exchange Server.
  • Database administration including SQL and Postgres would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of high availability, Backup and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions.
  • Successfully managed significant change within an IT function and the wider business.
