This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT professional to gain further experience in an extremely varied and dynamic role. You will be a lead Technical Engineer for a well-established managed service provider based in Redditch.

As more and more of their growing customer base are wanting cloud solutions, they are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to roll their sleeves up and get stuck into migrations and other cloud-based projects as well as supporting their clients on-prem and cloud server estates.

It will be vital that you have cloud migration experience with a detailed knowledge of what it takes to migrate a client’s estate to the cloud safely and securely.

There will be some service desk activity to handle, escalated incidents across servers, desktop PC’s, software, network systems and telecoms. Once you are familiar with the team and the clients you will be the point of escalation for any incidents unsolved by the more junior engineers, you will also mentor and aid in developing their technical knowledge and experience.

They are a close-knit team with key focus on training and support with monthly social events. This is a genuine opportunity to really have an impact and add value to this expanding company, making your mark as our client continues to grow.

This is an autonomous role where you will be give the responsibility to work on client accounts and represent the company.

Role: Infrastructure Engineer / 3rd Line Support / Cloud Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Location: Redditch

Required Experience In

  • Servers - A/D, administration
  • Virtualisation - Hyper-V, VMware, Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Windows Server (2003 -2019), Exchange, SQL Server, Office 365
  • Proven examples of managing cloud migrations
  • Networking including TCP/IP Model
  • Telecoms
  • Support desk / customer support

Skills and Background

  • Organised, priority driven, and able to multitask to meet service priorities
  • Logical and dynamic thinker with good problem-solving skills
  • Methodical with attention to detail, but prepared to meet customer expectations
  • Communicate effectively with good customer focus
  • Ability to work under own initiative in pressured situations to deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction whilst also working within a team
  • Able to identify old hardware/software and inform the customer that this could be upgraded to prevent further issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both on the phone and face to face, speaking with and supporting personnel at varying degrees of knowledge
  • GCSE’s or equivalent (Preferred)
  • 3 - 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Full UK driving license
