Vacancy description
The Dick Lovett IT Team are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to support, monitor and maintain the Group’s IT Infrastructure to ensure it is high performing, optimised and secure.
If you have good product, application and technical knowledge, and enjoy resolving complex escalated incidents while promoting IT best practice, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a practical and exciting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Propose upgrades and replacements, and then oversee implementation of new IT systems for both Group and Vehicle Manufacturer systems.
- Ensure system upgrades and scheduled works are carried out correctly and inline with the IT strategy.
- Assist with new build and refurbishment projects and ensure all new major system implementations have detailed documentation.
- Provide out of hours emergency on call support on weekends on scheduled rotation.
- Work with the Infrastructure team to ensure that backups are managed, maintained and documented.
- Establish a strong working relationship with the service desk team. Understand agreed service levels and how they can affect your prioritisation of delivered work.
Essential criteria
- Microsoft Active Directory (on prem and hybrid expertise).
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Office 365
- VMWare experience / certification.
- Advanced networking understanding – LAN / WAN / firewall.
- VoIP experience, preferably Avaya IP Office Enterprise experience.
- Excellent written, communication and documentation skills.
- Able to work calmly under pressure.
- The ability to triage and use fundamental knowledge to get to the bottom of a problem.
- Be prepared to work with both traditional turn-key IT and bespoke manufacturer systems from Porsche, BMW, Ferrari and Jaguar Land Rover.
