Job Summary: We are looking for technically skilled candidate with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT Technician. The duties of an IT Technician include being a reference point for all IT related queries, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties. The Candidate is expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels. They are required to listen to their technical needs, understand their problems and implement solutions to them. Responsibilities and Duties: Include but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Department Manager:
  • Configuring & maintaining servers & supporting infrastructure
  • Configuring & maintaining the telephony system
  • Organise, prioritise workload and escalate issues where necessary
  • Networking and other related communication troubleshooting
  • Perform network administration, specifically – User/Group Management, Access Control and File/Folders.
  • Security & Permissions
  • Liaising with support partners where necessary for implementations and repairs
  • Monitoring and maintain Backup infrastructure
  • Provide IT support to internal/external users.
  • Develop and maintain internal Databases.
  • Maintain and install servers, workstations and peripherals.
  • Network point installation and termination,
  • Keeping up to date with industry changes in I.T and advising on new ways to implement them to improve company processes
  • Wireless network installation and maintenance
  • Website Production
  • Any other duties deemed necessary Essential Experience & Requirements:
  • Good Knowledge of Windows Server 2012 / 2016
  • Active Directory & Group Policy
  • Experience with Virtualisation technologies – Specifically VMware ESXI
  • Knowledge and experience of Batch Script
  • Knowledge and Experience Microsoft Access
  • An understanding of networks and associated technologies (DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLANs etc)
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Structured approach to problem solving and technical troubleshooting
  • Previous experience of supporting Servers, Desktop PCs, Laptops
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role Desirable but Not Essential Experience:
  • Prior experience of Microsoft Business Central
  • Any prior experience of SQL Server
  • Exposure to & practical working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JSON, XML
  • Experience managing and configuring WSUS
  • Knowledge of ESET antivirus
  • Knowledge of VEEAM backup software
  • Printer configuration & management
  • Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite & 365 Platform
  • Understanding of cloud-based services and migrating Qualifications Preferred:
  • Recognised qualification in I.T (degree or equivalent)
  • 1-2 years’ work experience as desktop support or similar
  • Office 365 / Microsoft SharePoint experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office user Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance Working hours between 08:00am – 4:00pm Monday – Friday - 40 Hours per week 8 Hours per day (Set working times will be discussed at interview if different hours are preferred) Salary – £23,000 – £25,000 Starting salary depending on qualifications & experience
